This page contains my personal notes used to create a Quake Video.

  • From windows 
    • Launch the app fraps and set the fps to 60.
  • From Quake 
    • /exec xqon.cfg (set all quake in highest quality ... see REFERENCES) 
    • /com_maxfps 60 
    • /cg_fov 100
    • Play the Demo
    • Alt + F7 to start recording


The video generated from Fraps is too big so before upload the video to youtube I convert it with Any Video Converter.

  • Any Video Converter Ultimate
    • Preset : Matroska (mkv) movie 
    • Codec xvid 
    • Original size 
    • Bitrate 4000 
    • Frame Video 25
  • Youtube
    • Just upload the mkv video file .
